Course Description:
We will develop skills in operating the keyboard as will as achieving acceptable speed and accuracy levels. This course provides for instruction in formatting of basic documents for both personal and business use. It provides opportunities for students to apply keyboarding skills in real life situation; emphasizes mastery of touch control of keyboard characters, correct keystroking, and proper manipulations of operative parts and care of the machine. We develops skill though a continuous program of selection practice based on diagnosis of individual needs; provides instruction in the production of letters, manuscripts, tabulations, business communications, reports, and composition at the keyboard. We also include skill development in proofreading, spelling, punctuation, and correction techniques.
Grading Policy:
70% Daily Work / Class Participation
30% participation

Classroom Procedures:
All Papers are due on the day assigned or no later than Friday of the week assigned.
Papers not turned in when due will receive a zero and will not be made up.
Check the board for daily assignment when entering class.
It is your responsibility to get any work you missed.
If you know before being absent: ask me for your assignment.
If you are concerned about your progress in this class: ask me
A progress report may be requested if necessary.
Keep a positive attitude.
Be seated and ready to work, with all materials, when the tardy bell rings.
Please Do Not: Allow another student to print their work with your name on it. This is cheating and all students involved will be punished.
Please Do Not: Be rude or discourteous to your classmates or to the teacher
Please Do Not: Write or read personal notes
Please Do Not: Be tardy (coming to class late or unprepared)
Do Not Write on or Erase my dry wipe board. I use it for assignments.
Discipline procedures will be handled within the guidelines of the student handbook.
Ask Questions - the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked.
