Hello! My name is Rebecca Odom. Currently, I teach dual-credit English for Cisco Junior College at the LEAP campus of Cisco High School. I also assist Mr. Kelly West, Cisco Junior High School principal. My first teaching assignment began in January of 1968 at Adamson High School in the DISD in Dallas, Texas. Since I am certified to teach not only English and reading but also German, I spent a portion of my career teaching German at John Marshall High School in the Northside ISD in San Antonio, Texas.
Teaching is a great profession even with all the constant changes we face. Dealing with young people is refreshing and fulfilling and never dull! Just recently in a conversation with a colleague, I remarked how wonderful kids are. Even when I feel tired and discouraged, the smiles and greetings of my students make the task of teaching a joy.
